Acrivastine and Pseudoephedrine are combined in this medicine.
This medicine helps relieve symptoms of hay fever and other similar allergies, such as runny nose, sneezing, red, itchy and watery eyes.
Take Acrivastine+Pseudoephedrine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
You may take it with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.
You may stop taking this medicine once you feel better or if there are no more allergies.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- severe high blood pressure
- severe coronary artery disease (disorder of the blood vessels of the heart)
as this medicine may not be suitable for you.
Do not take Acrivastine+Pseudoephedrine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine used to treat depression known as monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days. Please see the section “Can I take this with other medicines?” below for more information.
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- heart disease
- high blood pressure
- diabetes
- thyroid disease
- increased pressure in the eyes
- prostate disease or difficulty in urination
- stomach ulcer
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are going for an operation, including minor surgery and dental work, inform your doctor that you are taking this medicine.
If you are going for a urine test for amphetamine, let your doctor know that you are taking this medicine as Pseudoephedrine may interfere with the result of the test.
Acrivastine+Pseudoephedrine may cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
This medicine may also cause any of the following side effects: headache, problems sleeping, stomach discomfort, dry mouth and rashes.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Do not take this medicine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine used to treat depression known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxacid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine in the last 14 days.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
- medicines for heart disease e.g. bretylium
- medicines for high blood pressure e.g. betanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine
- appetite suppressants
This list does not include all medicines that may interact with Acrivastine+Pseudoephedrine.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
